PhD Research
Collective intelligence in multi-agent systems: an optimization perspective
The research focussed on development of novel optimization algorithms based on collective behaviour of humans. The optimizers were tested on several functions having complex landscape features such as multimodality, multi-funnelled, deceptiveness, neutrality etc. I also developed multiple variants of opinion dynamics optimizer based on different network topologies to improve its performance. Lastly, I showed the applicability of optimizers for real world problems such as sensor selection of electronic nose, phsico-chemical feature selection for predicting the pleasantness of molecules and gene selection for cancer patients classification.
